Goeckerman therapy (GT) for psoriasis combines the therapeutic effect of crude coal tar (CCT) and ultraviolet radiation (UVR). CCT contains polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons, some of which can form DNA adducts that may induce mutations and contribute to carcinogenesis.
