Crohn's disease (CD) is a polygenic immune-mediated disease characterized by gastrointestinal inflammation. Mice deficient in the hematopoietic-restricted SH2 domain-containing inositolpolyphosphate 5'-phosphatase (SHIP) develop spontaneous CD-like ileal inflammation.
