The long-lived mutant of Caenorhabditis elegans, clk-1, is unable to synthesize ubiquinone, CoQ(9). Instead, the mutant accumulates demethoxyubiquinone(9) and small amounts of rhodoquinone(9) as well as dietary CoQ(8).
