To examine the contribution of sarcoplasmic reticulum Ca(2+) ATPase (SERCA2a) to early heart failure, we subjected transgenic (TG) mice expressing SERCA2a gene and wild-type (WT) mice to aortic stenosis (AS) for 7 weeks.
