Mutation of the Arabidopsis thaliana tRNA (Trp)(CCA) anticodon or of the A73 discriminator base greatly diminishes in vitro aminoacylation with tryptophan, indicating the importance of these nucleotides for recognition by the plant tryptophanyl-tRNA synthetase.
