Our studies on angiotensin II receptor subtype 1A (AT1A) knockout mice define how endogenous receptors other than AT1A receptors stimulate changes in cytosolic calcium concentration ([Ca2+]i) in cultured aortic vascular smooth muscle cells (VSMCs).
