Hepatitis B virus (HBV) DNA is prone to mutations because of the proofreading deficiencies of HBV polymerase. The postoperative prognostic value of HBV mutations in HBV X protein (HBx) gene was assessed in HBV associated hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) patients.
