Eco1 is the acetyltransferase that establishes sister-chromatid cohesion during DNA replication. A budding yeast strain with an eco1 mutation that genocopies Roberts syndrome has reduced ribosomal DNA (rDNA) transcription and a transcriptional signature of starvation.
