Seventy-one patients with multiple sclerosis (MS) were classified into four subgroups according to the clinical pattern of their disease; their HLA-DR and DQ polymorphisms were defined by serological methods and analysis of Taq1 digestion fragments hybridizing with DRB, DQA, and DQB cDNA probes.
