To THE EDITOR—Daptomycin, a novel lipopeptide antimicrobial agent, is being used with increasing frequency for managing infections caused by drug-resistant, gram-positive bacteria with reduced susceptibility to vancomycin (including Staphylococcus aureus) [1].
