In vitro selection of HIV-1(EVK) variants resistant to highly effective nucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitors (NNRTIs), i.e. azidothymidine (AZT) and didanosine (ddI) was performed. In case of AZT resistant mutants, subcloning by limiting dilutions was used.
