Graves disease (GD) is an autoimmune thyroid disease and is associated with human leukocyte antigen (HLA)-DR3 and DQA1*0501 in Caucasians. However, the association of HLA with GD is less clear-cut in East Asian populations. We analyzed HLA-DRB1 and -DQB1 associations with GD in 198 Korean patients compared with 200 healthy controls.
