In the present study, the expression of P53 and MDM2 proteins were examined in specimens from a group of 20 patients (9 with primary hepatocellular carcinoma HCC and 11 with liver cirrhosis LC, linked to HBV infections as a major aetiologic factor) by immunohistochemistry. The immunostaining findings were correlated with P53 mutation analysis using PCR-SSCP, PCR-HDF and direct sequencing, and MDM2 amplification...
