Sonic hedgehog (Shh) is expressed in the posterior vertebrate limb bud mesenchyme and directs anteroposterior patterning and growth during limb development. Here we report an analysis of the pectoral fin phenotype of zebrafish sonic you mutants, which disrupt the shh gene.
