Multiple sclerosis (MS) is a complex inflammatory, demyelinating, and neurodegenerative disease of the central nervous system (CNS), that is accompanied by vascular abnormalities such as cerebral hypoperfusion, neurovascular uncoupling, and blood–brain-barrier (BBB) disruption.
