The homeobox gene, Hoxa1 , has two different isoforms generated by alternative splicing: a full-length homeodomain-containing Hoxa1 ( Hoxa1-FL ), and a truncated Hoxa1 ( Hoxa1-T ), that lacks the homeodomain.
