<h4>ABSTRACT</h4> Alpha-protein kinase 1 (ALPK1) is a pathogen recognition receptor that detects ADP-heptose (ADPH), a lipopolysaccharide biosynthesis intermediate, recently described as a pathogen-associated molecular pattern in Gram-negative bacteria.
