Brain metastatic cells undergo metabolic adaptations, such as increased reliance on oxidative phosphorylation. Integrating proteomic and transcriptomic profiling of patient samples revealed a consistent upregulation of the carnosine dipeptidase-1 (CNDP1) in brain versus extracranial metastases.
