Possible mutations of the Waf1/p21 gene, a cyclin-dependent kinase (CDK) inhibitor gene, were investigated in biopsy specimens of 28 brain tumors using polymerase chain reaction (PCR)-single strand conformation polymorphism and nucleotide sequence analysis.
