Aim: Phenylethanolamine N-methyltransferase (PNMT) catalyzes the conversion of sympathetic neurotransmitter norepinephrine to epinephrine. We examined the association of PNMT polymorphisms with acute and chronic pain in sickle cell disease (SCD).
