Nucleophosmin 1 (NPM1) is a nucleus-cytoplasm shuttling protein ubiquitously expressed and highly conserved. It is involved in many cellular processes and its gene is mutated in ~ 50-60% of Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML) patients.
