Polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons, like benzo[a]pyrene (BaP), are ubiquitous environmental pollutants and potent ovarian toxicants. The transcription factor NRF2 is an important regulator of the cellular response to electrophilic toxicants like BaP and to oxidative stress.
