There is evidence suggesting that IgA nephropathy (IgAN) is an immunological disease. The role of HLA class II DR beta 1 (DRB1) has previously not been well studied. The aim of our study was to investigate the association of HLA-DRB1 variants with IgAN in a Swedish Caucasian cohort.
