Cu(+)-ATPases drive the efflux of Cu(+) from the cell cytoplasm. During their catalytic/transport cycle, cytoplasmic Cu(+)-chaperones deliver the metal to the two transmembrane metal-binding sites (TM-MBSs) responsible for Cu(+) translocation.
