Alcoholism is a progressive disorder that involves the amygdala. Mice lacking protein kinase C epsilon (PKCepsilon) show reduced ethanol consumption, sensitivity and reward. We therefore investigated whether PKCepsilon signaling in the amygdala is involved in ethanol consumption.
