Huntington's disease (HD) is an autosomal dominant inheritable neurodegenerative disorder caused by expansion of a polyglutamine repeat in the amino-terminal region of huntingtin. Polyglutamine expansion causes mutant huntingtin to aggregate and accumulate in the nuclei and cytoplasm of neurons.
