OBJECTIVES: Epidemiological data indicate the existence of wide interindividual differences in arsenic metabolism. It has recently been shown that arsenic(III)methyltransferase (AS3MT) enzyme catalyses the methylation of arsenite and monomethylarsonous acid (MMA).
