Four chromosomal regions were tested for loss of constitutional heterozygosity in primary tumours from 85 Icelandic breast cancer patients. Loss of heterozygosity and other types of gene rearrangements were observed in 37% of informative cases at the retinoblastoma locus, RB1, on chromosome 13q.
