Aberrant arachidonic acid metabolism by cyclooxygenase (COX)-2 and 12-lipoxygenase (LOX) has implicated in carcinogenesis. Genetic polymorphisms in COX-2 and 12-LOX might therefore affect susceptibility to colorectal cancer (CRC).
