Hereditary diffuse gastric cancer (HDGC) is a cancer predisposition syndrome caused by germline mutation of the gene for the cell-to-cell adhesion protein E-cadherin. The syndrome is dominated by predisposition to the histologically diffuse, poorly differentiated form of gastric cancer.
