Mice with overexpressed cardiac Gsalpha develop cardiomyopathy, characterized by myocyte hypertrophy and extensive myocardial fibrosis. The cardiomyopathy likely involves chronically enhanced beta-adrenergic signaling, because it can be blocked with long-term propranolol treatment.
