Paradoxical behavioral responses to nonselective neuropsychiatric drugs are frequently encountered and poorly understood. We report that a single receptor gene mutation produces a paradoxical response to the nonspecific serotonin receptor agonist m-chlorophenylpiperazine (mCPP).
