Multiple Sclerosis is an autoimmune disease mediated by activated lymphocytes entering the central nervous system. Treatments with the greatest efficacy either prevent the entry of activated lymphocytes, or deplete the lymphocyte population, before allowing lymphocyte reconstitution.
