Pemphigus vulgaris (PV) is a life-threatening autoimmune blistering disease caused by pathogenic autoantibodies targeting the desmosomal cadherins desmoglein 3 (DSG3) and desmoglein 1 (DSG1), essential for cell–cell adhesion.
