Oligodendrocyte precursor cells (OPCs) represent the most abundant group of proliferating cells in the adult central nervous system. OPCs serve as progenitors for oligodendrocyte (OLs) throughout the life, and contribute to developmental and adaptive myelination, and myelin repair during diseased state.
