<h4>1 Abstract</h4> The bacterial genotoxin colibactin interferes with the eukaryotic cell cycle by causing double-stranded DNA breaks. It has been linked to bacterially induced colorectal cancer in humans. Colibactin is encoded by a 54-kb genomic region in Enterobacteriaceae .
