<h4>ABSTRACT</h4> Alphaviruses are enveloped viruses transmitted by arthropod vectors to vertebrate hosts. The surface of the virion contains 80 glycoprotein spikes embedded in the membrane and these spikes mediate attachment to the host cell and initiate viral fusion.
