Alzheimer’s disease (AD) is the most common form of dementia worldwide. One of AD’s main pathological hallmarks is the cerebral plaque deposits of β-amyloid (Aβ). Aβ is generated through sequential enzymatic cleavage of the amyloid precursor protein (APP).
