Calreticulin (CRT) is an endoplasmic reticulum (ER) chaperone with low affinity calcium binding sites in its C-terminal domain. This region is altered by somatic mutations in the CRT gene ( CALR ), which drive a subset of myeloproliferative neoplasms (MPN).
