The metabolism of sulfamethazine (SMZ) and p-aminobenzoic acid (PABA) by N-acetyltransferase (NAT) was measured in human colorectal cytosols from 12 slow and 11 rapid acetylators whose genotype was determined independently by a specific polymerase chain reaction.
