BACKGROUND: Leptin (LEP), leptin receptor (LEPR) and peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor gamma co-activator 1-alpha (PGC1A) are involved in the pathogenesis of multiple sclerosis (MS) by affecting the inflammatory response and reactive oxygen species production.
