Manganese (Mn) is an essential micronutrient required for the proper function of several enzymes. Accumulating evidence demonstrates a selective decrease of bioavailable Mn in vulnerable cell types of Huntington's Disease (HD), an inherited progressive neurodegenerative disorder with no cure.
