Neuropeptide Y (NPY) and its G protein-coupled NPY Y2 Receptor (NPY2R) are highly expressed in orexigenic NPY/Agouti-related peptide neurons within the arcuate nucleus, a major integrator of appetite control in the hypothalamus.
