BACKGROUND: Colorectal cancers (CRCs) with deficient DNA mismatch repair system (dMMR) represents approximately 12% of all CRCs. Sporadic dMMR CRCs are due to hypermethylation MLH1 gene promoter and associated with the CpG island methylator phenotype (CIMP).
