The crocapeptins are described here as cyclic depsipeptides, isolated from cultures of the myxobacterium Chondromyces crocatus . Structure elucidation of the compounds revealed a cyanopeptolin-like skeleton, containing the characteristic amino-hydroxy-piperidone (Ahp)-heterocycle.
