Myxopyronin B (MyxB) binds to the switch region of RNA polymerase (RNAP) and inhibits transcriptional initiation. To evaluate the potential development of MyxB as a novel class of antibiotic, we characterized the antimicrobial activity of MyxB against Staphylococcus aureus.
