AIMS: A number of studies demonstrate that the polymorphisms in the 5 region of HTR2C play a pivotal role in antipsychotic drug efficacy. Since risperidone is an antagonist of HTR2C, polymorphic variations in HTR2C may explain variability in response to risperidone treatment.
