Nearly identical cells can exhibit substantially different responses to the same stimulus. We monitored the nuclear localization dynamics of nuclear factor kappaB (NF-kappaB) in single cells stimulated with tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-alpha) and lipopolysaccharide (LPS).
