The receptor-type protein tyrosine phosphatase epsilon (RPTPepsilon) activates c-Src in mammary tumor cells induced in vivo by Neu. Tumor cells lacking RPTPepsilon exhibit reduced c-Src activity, appear less transformed morphologically and proliferate slower in vitro and in vivo.
