Although the association of angiotensin I-converting enzyme inhibitors (ACEis) with a negatively charged membrane is thought to be responsible for hypersensitivity reactions (HSRs) during hemodialysis, we hypothesize that these complications are due to changes in plasma aminopeptidase P (APP) activity and genotype.
